Jason Mercier has returned to the top of the Global Poker Index after four weeks in second place behind Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier.
The GPI uses a unique formula to rank players, taking into consideration a players’ performance over six half year periods. Mercier returns to the top of the rankings owing to his eighth place finish in the World Series of Poker Europe in Cannes earlier this month. Grospellier drops back into second place.
The most notable addition to the top ten in the rankings is that of Phil Hellmuth.
The former WSOP main event winner reached this position owing to his success in the WSOP Europe main event, which made him the first player to win main events in both Las Vegas and Europe.
